I want to get a Jack Russell puppy, but I have 2 cats(each 2yrs old and 16 lbs each). Would they be safe with a JR if the dog was brought into our home as a puppy?

If you bring a Jack Russell into your home as a puppy it should be fine. I would not leave them alone together for quite sometime though. Jack Russells are hunting dogs by nature and will chase by instinct. If your cat stands its ground and doesn't make it out to be a game then it should be fine. My Jack Russells get along fine with the cats I raised them with but it does not stop them from chasing the neighbors cats. Several of the puppies I have placed also went into cat homes and they did just fine.
