how long will she bleed for she is only 7 months old and is it a contant flow or does it just come out a little at a time

Honestly it depends on the dog. Every dog is different. I have one that you wouldn't even notice when she is in heat and I have another that spots. I did have one other one that did a little more than spotting so we used the doggie pad/panties on her. Heat cycle is typically 2-3 weeks long starting with the swelling of the vulva. Typically she will swell first then within a few days bleed. That will last approx. 5-7 days then once it runs clear she will be ready for breeding. you will definetly want to keep her away from any males during this time if you do not want to breed her. This stage is about 4-5 days. Then she is is still heat for about another week but she will not allow any male to touch her at this stage. Depending on the female they will go into heat every 5-6 months.
