My normally sweet tempered Jack Russell, has become nasty if petted, picked up or touched. He cuased some deep bite wounds on my hands. It seems that he is in pain and although he seems to want to be with me he runs away if he senses that I will touch him. He started licking his paws as if they bothered him and he is also very lethargic, his ears droop and he looks very sad. He used to sit next to me on the couch, but now he prefers his bed in the next room. Our vet prescribed prednisone for the itching, but his temperment has gotten worse. Any suggestions?
