when is the best time to neuter you dane puppy if you do not wish to breed????

I always tell my puppy buyers to contact their veterinarian in regard to spaying or neutering. I believe it can be done at nearly any time and before females come into their first heat cycle. However, in regard to surgeries except for cropping I always defer to the vet.
