11/2/05 Surprised no one answered this. A cherry eye is a gland on the inside of the eye lid that swells ( due to MANY different causes) and then in association to this ( most likely) weak ness in the third eye lid causes it to invert. It will look like a large piece of meat is in the inside corner of the eye. In all likely hood it is a hereditary condition. Please note that I am not a veterinarian, I have how ever seen many cherry eyes in bull dogs that I have known and this may not be a clinical, exact definition of a cherry eye, it is how I under stand the process to be.
