63 days. If you use good quality dog food you don't really need to. Feed extra in the last few weeks and may switch to Puupy Food the last few weeks to give extra calcium

63 days is the norm, but I have had dogs that go as early as 58 days, but usually around 61 days. It all depends on the dog and whether or not you do ovulation testing to know exactly when the dog is ovulating.
As for the food, we feed puppy food to the mom at least 3 - 4 weeks before the puppies are due, during the nursing and even after for a couple of weeks to ensure she stays healthy after the pups are weaned.
