A Visitor asked the following question on 2/15/2005
Does anyone have any information they can share on a Golden Retriver puppy born hairless. The mother had a litter of 10- all other puppies look/act normal. The hairless puppy was the last born, and the first to walk. It seems OK otherwise but is becoming the runt because the other puppies push it out of the way to suckle. The puppies are about 3 weeks old. The vets do not know what to think of it. Thank you for any help you can give. It will be gratefully accepted and appreciated.

You can try increasing it's nutrition. I have never heard of this nor have had experience with this. But it probably is a birth defect of some sort. But also could be a health challenge that affects the hair. There may be a few products you can try, but can talk more if you email me at perfectpeacegoldens@charter.net
Hope this helps
