I am looking for a tonic called Vita-sheen, last bought around 1990 in a feed store in Tuckerton, NJ. I've looked everywhere- no sign of it. It was recommended for a dog who whose back had become hairless and leather-like from all the scratching it was doing because of sand fleas. I started caring for this dog, giving about an ounce or two of the tonic each day in the food and immediately hair started to grow in. Within two months the dog had a beautiful,thick, shed-free coat. she was with us until she was sixteen, after which I stopped buying the tonic. We just got a golden who is shedding greatly and none of four tonics I have tried produced the results that the Vita-sheen did. One breeder suggested peanut oil.? I want the Vita-sheen back. Any suggestions.
