I have a 6 and a half year old gsp bitch who has been off her food for 10 days and is currently at the vets on a drip. She has had bloods and x-rays and the vets are saying that she may have addisons disease. Is this common in gsps and has anyone had any experience of the disease

11/18/07 I have not had it but have known of two GSP that have had either that and one that has had Cushings disease. I don't really have any information on it. Kim

11/23/07 I know of 2. It is hard to diagnose, but easy to control. once on meds the dog will be fine. It seems to be more and more common. Carl

4/11/08 Addisons disease is very rare in GSP's. I am so sorry for your GSP. Hope things are ok! Warm Regards, Lantz Hartley Lantz
