I recently adopted a 2 1/2 yr old handsome black gsp . The couple that had him before me did not have him socialize with other dogs . Now when we take him anywhere he goes crazy cries won't be still barks etc ( what can be done about this)
How do you know when a dog has a cold ?

Dogs don't get colds...more than likely, it's allergies that he's dealing with.
As for the socialization part, you can try getting him enrolled some obedience classes. Take him with you where ever you go so that he learns that being outside his home is a fun place to be, especially meeting new dogs/people. If you have a dog part in your area, you might want to take him there as well, assuming he's current on all his vaccinations first. Also, praise goes a LONG way. If he behaves well, give him tons of praise. It needn't be with treats, verbal and physical praise works even better. Eventually, he'll learn that it's fun to be with other people and animals.
