A Visitor asked the following question on 2/22/2005
I'm in the process of finding the perfect family dog but seem to have limited resources for my area. I live in Eugene, Oregon but will travel to N. California or Washington. My goal is to pick up my puppy as opposed to having one shipped, so tips and referrals would be greatly appreciated.
Also, in the big picture of things I'm not sure rather a male or female Frenchie would be best for my family. I have small kids and worry about a male constantly trying to mate them, is that an issue with French Bulldogs?

I can help you concerning the choice of the sex. A male is more calm than a female. If you have very small kids a male would be preferable but you have to know that a frenchie love children anyway no matter if he is a male or a female. There is absolutely no prob with children even if it is a male.
