What is a good age for a male Dachshund to be breed? How do i go about finding an breeder how might be interested? His one yr old and black/tan with fantastic markings. Great personalitiy.

7/27/04 AKC will let you breed as young a 8 months old. Anything under then that they will not reg. the pups. A year is a good age to start breeding. You need to put an ad on the internet for stud service. That should work and people near your area will email you about it. Good luck Carrol Carrol

9/13/04 I will not allow my male dogs to breed until they are mature. Thats usualy around 1 1/2 years. Marking and tempermant are a good thing. But what about correctness? Tempermant first, correctness second, markings (which dont really count as it isnt always thrown) third. Mac Sussie
