A Visitor asked the following question on 5/17/2005
We have our 1st Dachshund, male, 7 month old minature short hair and has been a great puppy except he is really starting to wonder outside and will not listen to the command "come". He will do all other commands like,sit,lay,speak, and outside. We know they are trigger, one word dogs but he seems to have a very bull-headed mind of his own. Any suggestions???? We are desperate. He is very energetic and is a ball of fun except for not listening outside. Thank you.

Doxies can be very strong willed. My only suggestion is to leash him and continue to work on the "come" command. Do so by making him sit and stay and then use the command come and tug on the leash. I wish you the best of luck, as I said they are strong willed.
