A Visitor asked the following question on 10/15/2008
My vet mistakenly neutered my 3 year old dachshund while he was there to get shots with my other dog who was to get shots and spayed. No where on the paperwork is a request for neutering and I am upset! My dachshund is registered and I feel the vet should pay me $150.00 for not authorizing the surgery (I have copies of the vets order)and the runaround I am and did get over this, plus they did not give my other dog shots that were on the care order for that pet! They graciously did not charge for the neutering or shots of my dachshund, but I feel this is unacceptable as I left my dogs in good faith they were going to get what they were supposed to have done correctly. I paid $150.00 for my registered dachshund and wondered if I am doing the right thing in asking for that compensation from the clinic? Any suggestions?

4/30/09 Sounds like irresponsibility at the Vet's office. I believe you should have some kind of recompensation for the error. Was you planning on breeding the male? If so, that in itself is an injustice to you. Lois
