What is the difference between an AKC rating and a CKC? I'm looking for a pet only. Thank you

AKC has more rules and certain qualifications for registration.
CKC is more relaxed and any dog can be registered i.e. you don't have to have proof that it is a pure bred dog.
Just be sure you buy your pet from a reputable breeder. Try to get one where you can meet the breeder, see the kennel set up, the parents and where the pups are kept. Please do not buy from a pet store or puppy mill. 99% of the pups in a pet store come from a puppy mill and most of those dogs don't even see the light of day.
