A Visitor asked the following question on 1/1/2008
My 1yr old dashound is loosing all the hair on her head chest and neck and it looks like it is spreading. I had her tested 2 times for mange and she does not have it. I was told this is inherrited. Can I get her hair to grow back?

Hi, one of my Dachshunds had the same problem when she was 1 yr. old. I took her in to 2 vets and 1 told me that she had Allergies, either to her food, environment ie: dirt,grass, bedding, or dirt. They gave her a Cortisone shot and he told me to change her diet. I started her on Lamb & Rice (Natural Choice). 3 months later her hair started growing back. I also kept her away from dirt in the back yard. Good Luck, Marti.
