I have a 7month daschound who's in her first heat, how long does it last? Her bottom is really swollen and her nipples stick out more is this normal? This is my first puppy

First off, I would advise you to have her spayed if you are not going to breed her. It will prevent many health problems especially a uterin infection. Heat cycles can vary depending upon a dog. The female will get very swollen in the back and begin to bleed, and their nipples do swell up. Depending upon the dog, the nipples will either go back to normal or can stay a little larger than before.
