7/12/07 Its considered in-breeding and in the breeding world its something that you want to stay away from. Sharon

7/23/07 I would recommend a book by Carmelo Battaglia "Breeding Better Dogs"... Linebreeding (very common in WELL BRED DOGS) and sometimes rarely Linebreeding are advised ONLY by knowledgeable and well advised breeders who can properly evaluate both the weak and strong points structurally, in both the sire and dam, but also in the lineage or research pedigree for many generations. It IS common for very well bred, successful show dogs to be bred in this manner - the breeders who do this are most likely managing their dogs appropriately and providing the proper genetic health screenings... Both Linebreeding and Inbreeding will bring out both the positive and negative attributes in one litter. You have to know what you are looking at. Rachelle
