AKC is 7 months and CKC is 6 mosfor males only and 6 mos for females CKC and 8 mos for AKC

The older, the better, IMO. I really prefer them to be at least 2, but as I said, the older the better. Then you have a better chance at knowing what health problems they may have. Some males are fertile into their teens.
You need to understand that a formerly housetrained male may 'forget' his training once he is used at stud.
