This is the first time for my 1 yr old daschund to have pups. How many can I expect?

It depends on what is behind her. It is like with a women, some have single births, some twins, etc. Even with dogs if she genetically program for 3 pups, then 3. But it can be as many as 7. How many pups was in her litter?
