Yes you do need papers, if you want to sell them for what they are worth.
Dachshunds are very smart, the best way to train in my opinion is use a treat. When they do good, give a treat.

You do not NEED papers to breed any female but it is better to have them or have been applied for. Half of the people that buy from a breeder are pet homes and they could care less if they have papers or not ,half the time they are just dropped in a draw and fogotten.
You need to do alot of reading before you breed it is not an easy operation to undertake.
Train baby dachshunds as soon as they are weaned from their moms and praise them and give them a treat such as their puppy food.
