If your puppies were born that color they are red. A true English cream is born dark, sometimes black and change colors as they get older to cream

Yes you are correct many True Creams are born Dark "sooty" color and then the color dissipates similarly to a Lipizzaner Horse. However there are True Creams who are born very very pale and are genetically Cream as well. If there is no Cream (UK import line Cream not a mismarked dilution) in the generations of the Red Dam then they will be red. What an awesome moment to have your first Cream litter and see the change!!!!!
