My mini doxie is 6 weeks pregnant and already acting miserable. I fear she is too large for this stage of pregnancy and wondered if anyone can tell me. This has me worried that there are too many pups and we'll lose a baby.

I have had extrememly large litters for miniatures. when worried or first time pregancy I have mind x-rayed about 4-6 days before they are due.
Not to worry you, but when a female gets too large sometimes their uterus cannot contract, so it is vital to keep tract of their temp from at least 59 day one. As you probably know their temp drops to the 98's range 12 to 24 hours before they whelp. If it drops below 98, consult your vet immediately or if temp raises above 102 degrees.good luck with your litter.
