A Visitor asked the following question on 9/6/2005
we got a daschund when he was 2 months old, and he hasn't grown and inch since we got him. Is it possible he's a mini daschund or maybe a runt? he's almost 3 months old and is about a foot long. do they have a growth spurt at a certain age?

9/14/05 What did the Breeder say he was ? Did you see the parents? Yes he should start growing, you need to take his weight about every 3 weeks, then you can tell more about his growth. Make sure you are feeding him a Puppie food, I like IAM's the best, he need the Puppy food for the 1st year of his life, it will make all the different in the world, in how this pup will turn out. 11/21/05 Have your pups checked out with your vet to make sure he is alright. I feed Purina Pro Plan and they do great, but there are many good brands out there. My main concern would be if you purchased him from a reputable breeder. Some backyard, puppy mills or commercial breeders will sell a pup telling you he will be a tiny and represent him at a 8 week old pup and the pup is uder 4 weeks of age. Check his teeth and again have him checked out by your vet. Judy
