I recommend you ask several vets on this question. Personally, since the dogs are not mature in growth until they are 2 years old, if you neuter prior to that, you are risking the full maturity level of the dog in size. If size doesn't matter to you, then I believe you should wait till they are at least 1 year old prior to neutering. Females are recommended being spayed after at least one heat, and the first heat could come as late as 14-15 months. With a male, I'm sure that 1 year old would be the absolute earliest I personally would recommend.

We reccomend neutering by 8 months. If you do it at this age, generally, you will be able to avoid the unwanted behaviors that come with intact males (ie: marking, dog agression). There are a number of studies by different vets that support neutering around this age, and probably and equal number promoting waiting. The breeder that you got your pup from my be of some use to you on this subject as well.
