A Visitor asked the following question on 3/29/2004
I've heard that Dobermans often turn against their owners and can become quite aggressive. Is this true? From what I've read, it seems like a Doberman would be a good match for my family and our lifestyle, but I want to make sure.

Properly socialized puppys, exposed to as many situations, people, other animals will not be aggressive. It is up to the new owner to continue what the breeder commences. Detrimental situations, such as chaining a dog, should be avoided also.

This is not true, unless you treat your doberman with cruelly. I have several dobes and they are good with my children as well as anyone elses, as long as they are not being miss treated. They are not on Akc dangerous dog list any longer. As long as they come from a Responsible breeder, that has the health, temperament, trainability, and conformation as there main focus for breeding. Good breeders take a great deal of time and effort to insure the best possible matches for breeding.
