A Visitor asked the following question on 3/2/2006
I am getting a doberman puppy that is now 6 and a half weeks old. Her Mom is 80 pounds, and her Dad 95. I am not sure if she is the runt of the litter but at 6 and a half weeks she is only 5.8 pounds. She is not malnourished at all, but because she is this small right now does that mean she wont grow to be full size or as big as her parents? I'm concerned only because I do want a big dog. Thanks so much!

Our dogs at 7 wks are at least 10-14 lbss. At 8 wks they are 15-20 lbs. Every dog is different. I would also look at the feet and the bone structure of the animal.
