It is best to crop the ears between 12-16 wks. The longer you wait the less chance you have for the ears to stand and the shorter the crop will need to be. I have had vets tell me that you have until the puppy loses all there baby teeth to get the ears to stand. Reason was that the cartilage doesn't harden till then.

Our vet goes by the 20 lb or 10-12 week limit. 16 weeks is much too old to crop ears.
