I would like to know if you could help me. I have just inquired a 7 month old male Cairn with papers. His mom and dad have the registration numbers, but I would like to go back at least 4 generations to see his ancesory. How do I do that.

The best way is to contact AKC directly. When you register him you can choose a 3 generation certificate or a five generation certificate. If not try searching online for parents / grandparents names.
