Cane Corso Questions

A Visitor asked the following question on 12/24/2006
My wife and I have a 7 month old daughter. I have read about the Cane Corso's and really like the breed. We had a Doberman Pinscher previously and she was a great dog, great with the baby. My question is, if we get a Cane Corso as a puppy and raise it with the baby (obviously teaching the baby to respect the dog), should we fear that the dog would show agression toward the baby?

1/1/07 Hi, We have two children ourselves. Corso are great with children, however the breed is a stong and dominant breed and need consistant training. Teaching the baby to respect the power of the dog is good but what the dog will need is for all family members to be its leader and to show the animal leadership. The Corso are very trainable and are great protection dogs. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. Thanks, James at Ballard Cane Corso Ana
