Hello,
The Cocker is supposed to be 13 1/2" - 14 1/2" tall at the shoulder for females and 14 1/2" - 15 1/2" tall at the shoulder for males. Females range from 20 - 22 lbs. and males 24 - 26 lbs. That is, if they are bred correctly. Most champion show dogs ARE champions because they meet the Breed Standard (what Cockers should look like). If champion lines are bred, they USUALLY produce pups who grow to correct size. When Cockers are bred indiscrimately without thought to build, coat, temperament, health screenings, the product is usually too big, not enough coat, bad temperaments, poor structure, etc. You can read the Breed Standard for all dogs on the AKC website: www.akc.org
Also, my website below has some helpful info on Cockers -- click on the INSIGHT page.
