I have a six month old male cocker spaniel. I am wanting to breed him, but i'm not sure how old he has to be before I can.

Cockers should be 2 years old, and all health testing done including but not limited to OFA xrays of hips, patellas, pass CERF test by K-9 opthalmologist and thyroid testing before they are bred. Cockers have NUMEROUS health problems that need can not be detected by your vet with a simple physical exam but can effect the quality of life in them or offspring. Why do you want to breed your dog? If you do it ethically and correctly there is no money to be made. I suggest you look at the American Spaniel Club code of ethics and do some research on responsible breeding before you do anything. Remember puppies didnt ask to come into this world and you should be responsible for them and their well being the rest of their lives! Including taking puppies back if their owners cant keep them weather they are 6 mnths old or 6 years old! It's not all fun a games, I assure you :)
