Can anybody tell me why some insurance companies will not insure my shar-pei stating they come under the Dangerous Dogs Act.This is news to me,as other companies have no problem in giving me quotes.Curious or what?

Shar-Peis can be a little aggressive. This is usually due to not socializing the dog as a puppy. When this breed was first brought to the US, it was so rare and many were stolen that owners did not socialize them with ery many people, thus many were "dangerous" around strangers. That and the fact that there were once called Chinese Fighting dogs does not help.
