I have a Blue male chihuahua and would love another one. I have met someone else with a blue female that looks almost exactly like mine. He also wants to breed his female dog, but he said you should not breed blue with blue. Is he correct? even if they are not related?

6/9/07 yES THEY ARE VERY CORRECT. THE REASON IS THAT THE BLUE GENE CAN CARRY A HIDDEN "BALD" GENE, THIS WILL MAKE THE COAT LOOK FUZZY WITH BLUE SKIN UNDER. KINDA HARD TO EXPLAIN WITHOUT SEE IT. BUT TO DOUBLE UP ON THE BLUE GENE IS A GAMBLE WITH THIS HIDDEN BALD GENE EVEN IF BOTH BLUE PARENTS HAVE GREAT COATS. THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO IS TO GET A FEMALE THAT IS A ANOTHER COLOR WITH ONE OF HER PARENTS BEING A BLUE. YOU HAVE A VERY GOOD CHANCE OF GETTING BLUES THIS WAY WITHOUT THE RISK. Nadine
