If your male is registered with AKC and the female is registered with AKC, customary is
the pick of the litter, or the value in cash
of a pup.
If they are not registered, I would imagine
the same would apply.

i never take pick back, personally i take cash at the time of breeding, the female stays at my home for 7 to 10 days during the breeding, is vet checked and cleared before she comes into my home and the pricing is done on a pedigree basis. If you breed you female to my male and my males ped trumps your females then my prices go up.
