If the shepherd is well behaved and non-animal aggressive, they should be fine together- however- I would never leave the two alone, unsupervised (because of the size difference).

We have placed sever of our chihuahuas with non agressive large breed dog owners. There should be no problem is they are both non agressive.

Hey I have a german shephard but she is non agressive just a big mom. My chihuahua gets along with her.
I raise Boston Teriers also I am a little more careful with them now my Bostons are wonderful but my chihuahuas can be bossy and not know when to stopSome time even thought they are small they will act like they are a Boxer.But again mine have been around each other since birth.
