Are Boston Terriers easy to train if you both work? Are they very active and do they require a lot of training? We are looking for a smart dog that can learn easily. We both work but are home evey night and all weekends. We do not want a dog that is a little terror all the time.

8/8/04 Hello, Bostons are extremely intelligent and easy to train. They need moderate exercise and can be very active. However, what goes up, must come down and they crash hard too! They are the best snugglers! Due to their high level of intelligence however, they are prone to being destructive if they are left alone too long. My dogs are crated when I leave the house because otherwise, they'd be into everything. They do this because Bostons bond so closely to their owners that they are prone to separation anxiety. Handled properly however, it isn't usually a problem. Bostons don't need a regimented exercise program and can get their exercise through walks and playing ball in the house. Bostons have a great sense of humour and love to play! Cassidy
