My Boston female is nine months old and has started to have a lot of thinning hair on the lower back of her ears and on the front of her temples (right above her eyes) My vet says it's hormone related and the hair should come back. Do Bostons get alopecia or could it be a hereditary problem? I do recall that her Mother had some thinning on her temples too.
Has anyone had or heard of this problem with Bostons?

I have found my puppies loose their puppy hair around the temples from 4 months to 8 or 9 months of age. It just thins not balds. It comes back without any trouble and I don't have any with it in adulthood. If it is hormone linked it must have to do with puberty.
