Ears usually go up on their own - unless they are HUGE. In that case, they might need to be taped. Cropping is purely cosmetic and does not need to be done.

Ears do stand on their own. It could take up to 6 months to happen. I have had very few (but does happen on occasion) that had a flop or 2 floppy ears. I do not crop ears as it is cosmetic.
