My border collie is smart but to leash her she pulls so hard the going for walks in not much fun. We have tried a harness (helps a bit), have tried a head harnes (totally preoccupies her to get the thing off). Would a pinch collar be the best alternative?

I don't have thos problem myself but I have seen other people use this technique and it really does work.
Snap the leash on the dog and then drape the leash over the back. Run the leash under the flank area and loop it back through the leash so its incircling the flank area of the dog. Make sure the leash end (the end with the handle) between the dog's body and the other part of the leash (not the other way around). When the dog pulls, the leash will tighten around his belly causing discomfort. When he stops pulling the leash isnt tight around his belly. He will get the idea really quick.
