You hopefully were able to see both parents when you initially went to choose your pup....but at the very least, the mother.
You should also have a registration certificate from an official body,(ie The AKC, KC, CKC etc) and a copy of the pups Pedigree.
In the UK we have started to do DNA profiling on our dogs, so if you have that in your country, you should ask to see the certificates.
