I purchased a boxer and the breeder said if I wasn,t going to show him the dewclaws are fine.

dew claws are the claw located on the side of the foot, sort of where our thumbs are on our hands. They are usually removed at the same time as the tails about 3 days old. I would highly recomend they be removed because they can get caught it carpet, blankets, ect and be ripped of and this would be very painful for your dog. I would speak to your vet about removing them, I am actually amazed the breeder did not do this right away. I hope this has helped you. Kim
