Need some useful tips for house breaking my bulldog his name is Gus. Gus can be out in our fenced in yard for hours then come in and piddle on the carpet or poo on the carpet. Paitance is a virtue but he's 12 weeks old so he's growing fast help please.

5/27/06 HI. I'M SORRY FOR THE LATE REPLY. I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH. WHAT YOU CAN DO IS PUT YOUR PUP IN A CRATE TO SLEEP OR ANYTIME YOU CANNOT WATCH HIM. WHEN YOU GET HIM OUT, TAKE HIM ON A LEAD OUTSIDE TO POTTY. LEAVE HIM AT LEAST 30 MINUTES. GIVE HIM HIS WATER OUTSIDE ONLY. PUPPIES WILL PIDDLE AND POO IMEDIATELY AFTER EATING AND DRINKING AND PLAYING. I HOPE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO USE BLEACH WHERE HE HAS GONE ON THE FLOOR. ALWAYS PICK UP HIS POO AND PUT IT OUTSIDE WHERE YOU WANT HIM TO RELIEVE HIMSELF. TAKE HIM TO THAT SPOT EVERY TIME. RESTRICT HIM TO AN AREA WITH A PUPPY PEN OR A BABY'S PLAYPEN WHENEVER YOU CANNOT WATCH HIM, IN AN AREA AWAY FROM CARPET. WHEN YOU TAKE HIM OUT, SAY THE SAME WORD TO HIM EVERY TIME AS HE FOLLOWS YOU OUT THE DOOR, FOR INSTANCE "OUTSIDE" OR ANYTHING YOU CAN USE EVERYTIME HE GOES OUT. STAY WITH HIM AT FIRST AND GIVE HIM HIS WATER AND WHEN HE STARTS GOING SAY "GOOD BOY. OUTSIDE." PET HIM WHEN HE FINISHES AND BRAG ON HIM. THIS WORKS. PS PRISCILLA

8/13/06 its a lot more simple than the previous reply. Get a crate, and crate training instructions from any website. Your problems will be over in two days. Carol
