A Visitor asked the following question on 8/24/2005
I know there is controversy or at least healthy discussion on natural birthing, but my girl naturally birthed also year. She went into labor 2 days before the C-section, middle of the night & birthed in less than an hour. Six live pups, one completely undeveloped & still born. She's bred now, due mid-September: my vet & I have been discussing the option of supervised natural birthing. Any experiences/opinions?

Our vet advocates allowing a female to begin labor naturally, in the office, then C-sectioning if neccessary... in principle. However, since a female can go into labor with little warning, and getting her into the office might take time, it's something we just don't risk doing.
