A Visitor asked the following question on 2/3/2006
We have, what we believe to be a belgian malinois that we got from a rescue kennel. She is a very exciting dog. However we have noticed that she likes to play soccer, even by herself. When she does this though, she always has to have something, stick, piece of grass, paper, anything in her mouth. It appears to keep her on task. The vet says he is just amazed at this but cannot figure out why either. Maybe you can help. Thank you for your time and possible input. Michael bennett

Dogs use their mouths like we use our hands. It could be a million reasons why she displays that behavior. Hearding dogs control their flock using their bark and their bite. She is probibly just keeping her brain as busy as possible. Malinois are notorious for having weird little quirks. As long as you have an outlet for their biting/barking you should have a happy Malinois.
