A Visitor asked the following question on 10/7/2005
Hello-
I just adopted a bloodhound into my family. He is wonderful and we love him to death! But, I dont know what breed he is. I noticed that there are a few different kinds. He is prominently black, with tan underneath and markings.
Might be kind of a stupid question, but I can't seem to find this info anywhere online.
Thanks so much

Bloodhound IS the breed. I think you have a hound, probably a black and tan coonhound, not a bloodhound. There are black and tan bloodhounds, but usually the black and tan is more 50/50. It COULD be a bloodhound, but it would have to be very droopy, and its legs strong and thick not long and spindly. I can't tell without seeing it. There are LOTS of resources for black and tan bloodhounds around.
