Where do you measure for height?

Across the shoulders just behind the neck. Official measurements in the field are done with a contraption with a thin stick that can move vertically up and down (kind of like a limbo stick set up, but with side poles instead of people as stick holders). The dog is stacked underneath the limbo rig, and the stick is lowered. A ruler on one of the poles is used to mark where the stick settles.
