A Visitor asked the following question on 11/17/2005
My 2.5 year old male Akita mix has been diagnosed with corneal dystrophy. Looking online there is information but nothing specific to Akitas, which it seems the disease manifests different symptoms specific to breed. I think it would be best to take him to a eye specialist. I live in southern california, can you recommend a vet or do you know where I can find more information? Thank you, Linda Leograndis

Hello Linda,
Here is a list of ACVO Veterinary Opthamologists.
Have you talked to the breeder of your dog about this?
I am not sure where in Southern Calif. you are located, but maybe one or more of these vets are in your area and can see you right away.
Best wishes to you and your akita,
Kim
