This puppy is guaranteed for life against any major hereditary health defects not caused by accident or mishandling. The breeder will replace this puppy with another of the same value (pet for pet, show for show) at no charge at the next breeding. No refunds will be given. The breeder will have right to a second opinion by a vet of her choice. The return of the puppy in this case will be paid for by the breeder.
Returning Puppy
The breeder will take back this dog under any circumstances for the life of the dog if you are unable to keep it for any reason. No refunds will be given. The dog will not be resold or given away nor be placed in the pound or in rescue. We will find another good home for the dog. The return trip of the dog in this case would be the responsibility of the buyer.
Veterinary care:
A health record is provided with each puppy regarding worming and vaccines. Please take this puppy to your vet for an initial healthy puppy check up within 3 days of bringing her home. If your vet finds anything wrong with the puppy, please advise me immediately.
Neutering:
If you are not going to show this puppy, s/he will need to be spayed after her first heat (usually at 6 months or so). The puppy registration papers will be sent to you after I receive proof of the spay.
Puppy Kindergarten
It does everyone a lot of good to take a puppy kindergarten class. Find one that is serious and not a puppy free for all! Do not take this puppy to a class or a park where there are large dogs in the mix (ever.) Not so much because the dogs are bad, more the owners have no control over their animals. Dachshunds are brave beyond stupid, but they can be easily killed by a large aggressive dog. Let’s not let that happen.
Maintenance
Please keep this dog trim and exercised. I am proud of my line’s good feet, so keep those nails short! Once a week Dremeling is the way to do it. This puppy has been trained and will allow you to file its nails, brush its teeth and clean its ears. Please continue to do so.
Feeding
These puppies have been fed both kibble and a raw diet. I advocate the raw diet for a lot of reasons, much of it having to do with tiny non smelly stool. It’s amazing.
Puppies need to be fed 3 times a day for at least 6 months. After that you can feed once or twice a day as your schedule permits.
Housebreaking
Puppy in the crate if you can’t have both eyes on the dog. Enough said.
Registered name
I will give the dog its registered name. You are free to use any call name you wish. Research shows a 2 syllable name is best for working with the dog.
