All our dogs have their patellas (knees) checked and also have their eyes checked to be sure that were are breeding only dogs that are clear and not perpetuating these problems. When we place a dog we guarantee that they are healthy and give you time (usually 72 hours) to have the dog examined by a vet of your choice. If, at that time, your vet finds that the dog is anything other than healthy and provides a written statement to that effect (on their office letterhead), we will be happy to take dog back and issue a full refund. However, we can not issue a blanket forever guarantee that the dog may not, in the future, develop eye problems, back problems, or knee problems. Despite the fact that we test and use only dogs that test clear for breeding, there is no consensus on how many of these problems are inherited (genetic) and how much can be contributed to the environment the dog lives in.
If you purchase a show prospect from us and it develops any genetic health condition which prevent you from showing the dog, or your companion dog develops any of these same genetic health problems, once we receive written notification of the problem from your vet and proof that the dog has been spayed or neutered (on office letterhead), we will be happy to offer a replacement show prospect or companion from our next available litter at no additional cost. You need not surrender a dog that you have become attached to in order to receive a replacement. We only want to have written confirmation that the affected dog has been spayed or neutered so that it cannot reproduce and contribute to the perpetuation of these problems.
